Traveling through; read on another site this was the best Chinese in Ft. Lauderdale (imagine there isn't a huge population of asians here), so thought I'd give it a try. Not the most upscale shopping area, but as soon as I stepped inside and saw their non-professional (i.e. not retouched or stock) photos of all their dishes, I knew I would be able to get some authentic food. Don't get me wrong, they have plenty of the Chinese-American standards like chop-suey, moo goo gai pan, etc., but you'll also see they have some great steamed fish, calamari (squid), awesome fish fillets, etc.. Beef, tomato, and egg dish was excellent tonight. Ma Po Tofu was nicely spicy and vegetarian. Very nice family seems to run it, got a great vibe from them. Will be back next time in town.

I've been coming here for I want to say 15 years. Even when I moved to Los Angeles for over a decade, I would dream of the honey garlic chicken and various other menu items. We almost always do pick up and everything is always ready, on time, hot and beautifully displayed. After having just come back, I ordered my usual and was absolutely delighted. China Lui has not failed me once, from honey garlic chicken to potstickers, vegetables, specialty dishes and so on. I highly recommend this place when you are having that craving!

I ordered chicken and broccoli with steamed brown rice... The Food was not ready when I got there after even though I ordered 20 minutes prior. Chicken did not taste fresh, crappy customer service, and the place looks like a dump. First and last time here. Still have a stomach ache 4 hours later.

I ordered the pu pu platter, Bourbon chicken, chicken noodle soup and small shrimp fried rice and crispy noodles. It all came out to 29.96 (including the delivery fee). The food lacked flavor but, the delivery was pretty quick, the delivery guy was nice and I received a wall scroll (Calender). I would probably give China Lui another chance but, order something different. The delivery service was great.

We bought a winter place in Fort Lauderdale in April 2014, and have been back and forth down here several times. When we first ordered from China Lui mid- 2014, the food was ok and delivery was fast. However, when we were here in October 2014 and January 2015, the food took forever to get here and was terrible. Ribs in the pupu platter were all gristle. Shrimp appetizer all heavily breaded hiding tiny shrimp. Lemon Chicken used to be lightly breaded breast served over a bed of lettuce, now it is big overly breaded gobs of grease with hardly any lemon sauce and no lettuce. General Tso's was inedible, we had to throw it out. We gave them one more try(because they are close) in early February 2015, the same story. I think the restaurant underwent either an ownership or management change, cause it used to be ok, now it is not.

My office is down the street from this place so I wandered in to this tiny venue and perused a menu. They offer a great selection of Chinese take-out classics, lunch and dinner combos, a tofu/vegetarian section, and dieters menu with steamed options. I opted for a simple sweet & sour lunch combination special ($6) that came with pork fried rice and my choice of pork egg roll or veggie spring roll. I opted for the spring roll & it was good n' crispy, and the fried rice was fluffy n' tasty. The chicken was good n' fried and accompanied by 3 chunks of pineapple and the sweet n' sour sauce came in a separate condiment container. Since lunch met my expectations, I will be going back soon to try the Bourbon chicken, which sounds delicious. If you're in the area and have a craving, China Lui will satisfy it!

Nothing bad, but very mediocre all around. We tried some special lo mein ($9.95), special fried rice ($8.95). Shrimp, chicken, vegetable and pork didn't have much flavor to it. Not much sauce or flavor in the lo mein - very bland. It looked like they added soy sauce to the fried rice already, which was odd. Given that the prices are probably on-par with other americanized Chinese in the area, I'm not sure if I'll go back there again. It's convenient, but the other place around the corner is slightly better. Still searching for really good Chinese in the Ft Lauderdale area...

its a shame i have to write this review. this restaurant has been fairly ok the last few times I've ordered from them. But today it was just down right unacceptable. the food took over and hour to get here, and once it did it was cold. The cheese wontons were literally a quarter of the size they normally are, but still the same price! I will never order from them again!

I love this place. I lived in fort Lauderdale for years and never ate Chinese food anywhere else even now that I have moved I will drive to fort Lauderdale for their food. Everything is made for scratch this is definitely the best you will ever eat.

My girlfriend and I live in Victoria park and were out on a bike ride that extended into rio vista to 17th st. We got hungry and all I had was my phone with a paypal app that showed the restaurants in the area. China Lui came up so we rode our bikes over. The owner seemed to be in a bad mood. We ordered our food and waited. Since we were on the bikes we wanted to eat there. He didn't want us to stay an eat because he said it was close to closing time. Keep in mind it was 8:30 pm. Therefore his attitude sucked, the food was cold and the spring role was partly frozen. So if your closing that early you must not be doing that good of business. I would never go back.

I should've read the reviews before ordering food there. Guy who took the order is the owner. I found out during the order when I got really agitated with his half sleepy and non concerning tone of voice. I was like" did you get all that sir". "Huh"that was the answer. Then asked for manager or somebody in charge. He said that's him. I ordered anyway. Food was bad and old. Bourbon chicken was just chicken with lots of water and half cooked veg by five year old, cooked three days ago. I called to complain. The guy probably fall asleep during my call. Because I kept on asking"are you there" Simply terrible. Please don't get fooled by cheap prices. Otherwise you will get what you pay for, cheap and bad.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
